QIANXING flush switches and sockets: Star Ring A and B compared
Star Ring A and Star Ring B are the two installation systems for QIANXING second-generation flush switches and sockets. A is for painted and decorative-painted walls, with a white concealed mounting plate and a separately sourced standard 86-type back box. B is for wood and stone, with a matching housing and no standard 86-type back box. A and B identify the installation structure; electrical functions are selected separately.
Choose the system by finish
Choose Star Ring A for painted and decorative-painted walls, and Star Ring B for wood and stone. They serve different installation conditions; they are not quality tiers or simply colour options.
Where a home includes painted walls, wood and stone, select A or B for each position. There is no need to use one installation structure throughout.
Check feasibility against available space
Star Ring A requires a separate standard 86-type back box at least 48mm deep, recessed 10mm below the final finished surface. Star Ring B suits 8–38mm panels, with surface thickness plus clearance exceeding 40mm.
These dimensions describe different structures and are not interchangeable. Check site measurements against the correct system manual before purchasing.
A and B do not determine the function
Once the system is confirmed, choose five-pin, UK or universal sockets, USB, Ethernet, or single- or dual-circuit smart touch switches. Check switch wiring and load requirements separately.
For example, a bedside area could use system A on a painted wall and system B on adjacent wood, with functions chosen for each position’s power needs. This illustrates a selection method; it does not establish the models used in any published case.
Three checks before ordering
Check that material and structure match; that space and wiring requirements are met; and that function models, quantities and arrangement are clear. Confirm all three before concealed installation work or panel fabrication.
Use the relevant July 2026 manual for installation. The 2025 second-generation models correspond to the currently sold structure. Contact QIANXING first if versions or site conditions differ.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between QIANXING Star Ring A and B?
They are installation systems for QIANXING’s second-generation flush switches and sockets. Star Ring A is for painted and decorative-painted walls, with a white concealed mounting plate and a separate standard 86-type back box. Star Ring B is for wood and stone, with a matching housing and no standard 86-type back box. Choose function modules separately and follow the manual for the currently sold version.
Can one project use both A and B?
Yes. Select for each position’s finish and structure, then combine the required functions.
Which is more discreet, A or B?
The systems serve different finishes. The overall effect depends on the chosen structure, finish treatment and site coordination, rather than A or B being inherently better.
